The rich history of Trent Country Park goes back to the Ice Age, when the retreating ice cut deep stream beds. It’s still a rock-hunter’s paradise!
Speeding forwards about 450,000 years, Trent Country Park was part of a huge common land forest but open access was gradually eroded and the forest was felled.
For a full and fascinating illustrated history of the park from the 9th Century onwards, take a look at ‘A Concise History of Trent Country Park’.
