Cockfosters Station car park development

Cockfosters Station car park development

A large housing development is proposed for the Cockfosters Station car park, which could have implications for Trent Country Park. We understand that up to 350 build-to-rent homes could be constructed on the site, which would then no longer be available for parking. This is of great concern to local residents but it could also impact the park by, for instance, displacing commuters and other drivers to the car park in Trent Park and by intruding into the views from the park.

The developer describes the project this way: We believe that this scheme can provide a number of benefits to the local area by maximising overall housing delivery in this highly accessible and underutilised location. This development will provide a long term, sustainable revenue stream for TfL which can be reinvested into improving the transport network and affordable housing delivery will be at 40%.

There will be a number of public consultations and the first one is happening:
Tuesday 18th June, 3:30pm to 7:30pm at Church House – 1B Chalk Lane, Barnet, EN4 9JQ.

Contact information is as follows:

If you have any concerns about this project, we urge you to attend one of the public consultations or to contact the organiser and state your views. The input from public consultations was very effective with the Berkeley Homes project in the park and we hope views from residents, station users and others will also be considered in this case.
