Friends of Trent Country Park Privacy and Data Protection Policies
The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force on 25th May, 2018. We have therefore updated our Privacy Policy and Data Protection to ensure that your data are protected, that you have more control over how you’re contacted and that our database is legally compliant.
If you currently receive emails from us, we obtained your details as part of the membership process and/or when you signed up for our email updates, which are focused solely on keeping you informed and sometimes asking for assistance. We love keeping in touch with our supporters and we’d like to keep doing so – Trent Country Park is a treasure under stress and your support is critical.
As part of the new process, we need you to confirm your permission for us to hold your data and to contact you via email. If you are already on our list, you should have received an email asking you to confirm your permission by replying. Please do that, so we can keep you on our list. We don’t want to lose you at this important time.

Our Privacy Policy follows for your review. It explains what personal information the Friends of Trent County Park collect, how we use this personal data and how it is stored.

What we collect. When you joined, the membership form asked for your email address and address. PayPal provides the same data to us when you join online.
How we use your data. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018, the information that you have provided to the Friends will be used in the following ways:
- To store it securely either electronically or in paper form.
- To use it only in connection with running the organisation.
- To communicate with you as a Friends member or supporter by email.
- To share with the Committee only.
- To provide the benefits of membership to you.
We will not sell or share any personally identifiable information collected by us to any third party.
How your data is stored. In the majority of cases the data were collected on a paper membership form then added to our electronic supporter list. The paperwork is stored securely by one of our Committee members. Our electronic email list is held securely on a Google server. When someone sends a message via the contact form or direct to our email address the emails are stored securely on the Tsohost (the Web hosting company) server as webmail.
Our website is SSL protected so when you contact us through the website all your details are encrypted before being transmitted to us.
Cookies. Where services are delivered on the internet, this sometimes involves placing small amounts of information on your device, for example, your computer or mobile phone. These include small files known as cookies. They cannot be used to identify you personally.
Third party cookies are used on this site – these are cookies found in other companies’ internet tools which we are using to enhance our site, for example Facebook or Twitter have their own cookies, which are controlled by them.
We will not use cookies to collect personally identifiable information about you. However, if you wish to restrict or block the cookies which are set by our website, or indeed any other website, you can do this through your browser settings.
