CAMPAIGN WEBSITE AND PETITION AGAINST THE COCKFOSTERS STATION CAR PARK DEVELOPMENT NOW AVAILABLE

The campaign to stop the development of the car park at Cockfosters Station now has a website and a petition for you to sign, if you oppose the development. Please visit their site. http://savecockfosters.co.uk/

To re-cap the situation, Transport for London is pressing Enfield Council to approve its plans to build some 370 rental dwellings, in 4 towers rising to 14 stories, on the Cockfosters station car park which will be closed and completely built over.

Many hundreds who use the car park daily to access the underground will have to make other travel arrangements. Tenants in the new buildings will also be barred from parking cars on the site. So the combined pressure from tenants and commuters (distance and local) to park their cars will fall on local roads and Trent Country Park.

This plan will impact everyone living in, visiting or commuting through Cockfosters. Congestion and pollution in Cockfosters village can only deteriorate further. The Friends are particularly concerned about the parking situation and the visual impact from the park.
