Enfield Council is again increasing the impact of large music events on Trent Park this year. CLARA [Cockfosters Local Area Residents Association] and the Friends have been lobbying against this.
How you can help:
READ CLARA’S REPORT AND TAKE THE SURVEY TO EXPRESS YOUR VIEWS:
Large events continue to damage our park and community:
-
LOSS OF PARK AMENITY FOR THOUSANDS OF VISITORS
-
DENIAL of access to KEY AREAS of the park during the entire school holidays
-
DAMAGING IMPACT ON PARKLAND AND ASSETS, ESPECIALLY PARK WILDLIFE
-
INTENSE MUSIC NOISE POLLUTION, LITTERING of park and wider area on event days
-
ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR (drugs, theft and more) throughout neighbourhood
-
TRAFFIC CONGESTION, CLOSED ROADS, re-routed public transport, leading to chaos.
And Enfield council makes no net revenue from these events after ALL costs are taken into account. Commercial mega events are a failed policy are not mandated and must be withdrawn.
